Just came across this, not sure if it had been posted in the last few days.

Thanks for sharing.

I saw this as well.

Quick exit. Francoois will make a great stand in IMO.

AP seems to have really picked up the momentum over the past several years, so I hope that won't change.

I always love the stock PR quotes "Due to differences in company strategy".

Translation, not hitting our numbers or he pissed off someone on the board.

Read about this Thursday. I'm sure François will keep things steady while the search goes on for a replacement.

Looking at the boards you'd think the recession is over. Maybe sales are still suffering globally.
This also might be the answer to the question of how many limited editions are too many.
I love them at TRF pricing, but MSRP is also a little too high IMHO.

Have they assigned a replacement? Is it too late to send them my resume?

Just keep in mind that folks on TRF are nuts and not representative of the general buying population. We're probably less than a fraction of a percent.

If it was Merk's decision to delete the 15300, then he deserves to go.

Francois is very in tune with the "new money" crowd! Audemar Piguet will not see a hiccup in their sales! Will be interesting to see who they eventually appoint!

Very true. I hear rumors that our own Thomas is being seriously considered.
If this happens TRFers will have easy time obtaining LE's going forward. Keep them crossed for him! Go Thomas go!

I am not surprised Merk has been fired, there have been several hiccups since he took over, the silly new slogan for the marketing campaign "To Break the Rules, you must first Master them", I mean what? , the debacle of the 40th Anniversary AP backed sale at Antiquorum this month totally shook confidence of collectors in AP, even a company like Omega had better sense in managing their brand equity than this guy with their Omegamania Auction and others which have a consistent program of ensuring things go well at auction and gives confidence to collectors at large, but then again if JP Morgan and the Nasdaq can screw up then why not Merk

I am sure there is more but that is what I could ascertain and it was funny I told a friend a week before the announcement that if I were a board member I would fire this guy.

What a coincidence

The New Dude should be better but then again what do I know
