GMT IIc

Is there a different movement in the early version to the one now. I have a V serial, don't know if early or late V, which movement would I have?

Is there any difference in the accuracy in the movements?

No all GMT11c will have the cal 3186 which is a slightly modded 3185, now the 3186 has been slightly modded into a cal 3187 on the new Explorer II.On the technical side,on the so called new Explorer 11 the movement does have a new name the Caliber 3187. But IMHO no way is it a completly new movement, however it does differ very slightly from the former caliber 3185 that was introduced first in 1988/9.Its now slightly thicker slightly different base top plates but apart from the blue Parachrom hairspring different indent gears on the cal 3186 and now same on the cal 3187 with the added in-house Paraflex shock absorbers thats about it deep down quite a lot is still based on the cal 3185.But no matter what they call the calibre in any Rolex they are all chronometers and pass the same COSC test. And will add no matter what the movement thats in any case its only as good as accuracy wise as what its been regulated too.

I sort of wish Rolex would just append a letter to the movements they "touch-up" vs. a truly new movement design.
