I know you have to have the DSSD pressure tested by Rolex as they are the only ones with the equipment necessary to test to its full pressure. My question is, does Rolex have to ship it to Switzerland or do they have the ability to do it at their service centers in the US??

All sanctioned Rolex sevice centers (on the Rolex website) should be able to provide that service...

From what I've read Dallas and NYC have the equipment.

Does it really matter? You won't have it longer than three months anyway. It definitely won't need service that soon:)

That wasn't always the case though right? It was my understanding that in years past the DSSD had to be sent to Geneva for servicing due to the extended depth rating. Good to know it can now be handled by CONUS based RSC's.

Well if any watch including the DSSD passes the normal 200-300m test that can be performed at most high street watchmakers.That will be fine for all scuba and all water activities with watches like the SD or DSSD the water pressure they are rated too will never be used by man or future man.

and why should that mean that I, or any other DSSD owner, wouldn't want it tested to the rating the watch is capable of, branded with, and advertised for?

Just took my DSSD in for a small issue with the date wheel. Took it to San Francisco RSC who said it had to be sent to Dallas since special equipment is needed to service it. Took about a month to get it back.

Thanks for the info. At least they didnt have to ship it to Switzerland!

If you send it in that will be the watch you have owned longest time.
