Datejust 116200
Hi, I just bought a 116200 and I'd like to know if there is a laser crown on the glass or not.
My 116200 has a non-coated cyclope; is possible to change it with a coated one? Thanks fabio |

Yes, there is definitely a laser etched coronet on the sapphire. Not sure about the coated/non-coated cylops though..

The crystal can definitely be changed to one with a NR cyclops. I've checked out this service with my own AD's watchmaker.
I like the NR crystal better, but it's not really worth the couple of hundred dollars for a new one.

I'd love to better understand about the non-reflective coating options. I have understood that Rolex Datejust crystals do not have any AR coating. Now it seems maybe they do, and/or just the cyclops ?
I have another watch with AR with a slightly domed crystal and it really doesn't make much a dramatic difference, but I guess with the dome design any reduction in glare is very much an improvement. |

Since most of Rolex watches use the same crystal, they are changing over to the AR coated cyclops (no full AR coating).. The part numbers are exactly the same except for the AR at the end of the part number..
Probably still lots of the early non-coated crystals around before they are all depleted...
