It just sounds like a publicity stunt to self-promote the swimwear line. Funny enough that's the watch he is wearing in the shoot. Give me a break!!! n:

His old Daytona was an Everose Daytona with the light dial whereas his new Daytona is a yellow gold with a black dial. The pictures in the article make it pretty clear they are the both Daytona's but are different watches.

What's crazy is the ugly schadenfreude of this thread.

A guy is made to surrender his property under threat of violence, and the reaction from the Rolex Forum is criticism for his being a reality TV star. Where are your priorities?

During the interview the young N00B stated that 'by slapping his hand would case the bracelet of his watch to pop open' ??? Maybe he bought it from the flea bay :)

I'll bet he staged it. Good publicity.

I'd not bet, though it'd be somewhat not surprising, if rolex gave him a free watch just for the publicity that he wears a daytona. or he bough it, and loves the attention.

I think it more in the delivery. The way the article reads, the robbery takes a backseat to promoting a swimsuit line as well as promoting one's "celebrity".

I guarantee this very same thing has probably happened to several other people around the world, yet this instance is deemed more headline worthy for some reason.

I think I would be more empathetic to someone in a similar situation who is less self serving.

Joey was approached by "fans" who wanted to "take a picture with him" and when he let them get close enough they stole his Rolex. He must not of liked it very much because he hasn't even replaced it with the exact same watch.
Not a deal breaker, I'm not looking to marry her...

But can I wear my Rolex while getting pushed in the pool by a hottie in a white bikini?

Is his face painted on?

There's only one other person I've ever seen who could replicate the same smile for every photo--our ol' buddy JJ.
