Your opinions please on this sub
Evening all,
My friend was left the below watch by his father. I'd really appreciate your view as to its authenticity. I've taken the best photo's I could with the available equipment but just in case they're not clear enough here's some of the information: Reference at top of watch: 94110 Reference at bottom of watch: 961221 Bracelet : 9315 End Links: 380 No paper work. The hands look like 'snow flakes' but I was expecting a Tudor dial not this one, however, I'm certainly no expert. One last thing, when pulling out the crown, the first click sets the date, the second sets the time. Any comments/views gratefully received. |

I am no expert, but that dial is wrong in every department. The hands are suspect as well.

My initial reaction was 'fake'. it was only after removing the bracelet and seeing the serial numbers I had a doubt.
Also, the bracelet has a divers extension and seeing as the watch is obviously quite old I wondered if they went to such detail when producing fakes? I haven't, knowingly, come across many fakes Fortunately, he's wasn't thinking of selling it. He knew I had a couple of Rolex watches and sought my opinion.... I wasn't at all sure hence this thread. I'll recommend he takes it somewhere where they can whip the back off and confirm the movement - then maybe he could source a genuine Tudor dial as I think he'd like to wear it just for sentimental reasons. |

Just an opinion without better images and looking at the movement. The dial clearly does not belong and is a very poor fake - makes Canal Street look good.
The rest of the watch looks like a legit high miles, poorly kept, approximately 1980 Tudor Snowflake. Hands may be OK too. Right amount of natural pitting on it. Needs work. Pitting / corrosion, dial, and who knows what to the movement. Date wheel looks white versus the silver I would expect but could be the pics. I'm guessing the dial will be at least $500 US if you could find one. Could be a good project to restore to how it is supposed to be but needs a lot of work to be brought up to 3K or so in value of that condition snowflake.

Revising a bit. Probably low - mid 2K range after being fixed up. Case is pretty rough.
Tube looks like it may need changing too so Tube & crown.

100% fake dial, the rest looks beat up but good, could be a great little project if the movement is good, photos of the movement would be essential before purchase, i would say by the rest of the watch you should factor in a good movement service also into cost.
