GMT Pepsi - pre-owned

I was at a "grey" dealer today & they had an older Pepsi there...holes in the lugs all the way thru....bit scratched up, not looking great....I figure at least 10 years old.....asking $10,000 + taxes.....that would net out at about $11,300.00?I said to the dealer that you could probably get that watch, in better shape, for $4 - $5,000, or less. Am I nuts, or were they just "fishing"?
I don't think I will ever go there again, seeings how they are obvious "rip-offs". Any thoughts?

Wow, hopefully it was an all original early - vintage GMT for that kind of cake.

I just bought mine in HK for a 12% discount at the old prices just 2 days ago... So 11300 after taxes you can pick up a TT GMT IIC for that much... I'd say that dealer is nvts!

PS. don't go back to him again.

Hey Bhai:

To be honest I am totally loving the Pepsi... I have decided to keep it simple... Everytime I fly I'll wear this one (pepsi) and I'll wear the GMT-C only when I am home in the evenings.

And how do you decide what Daytona to wear when?

Sorry for the hijack, simple I wear my GMT early morning, or sub non date or YM and sleep overnight with one.

During the day I'll grab one of my daytonas and in the evning my wife and I will relax with our PP's.

The daytona is easy as I only keep 2 at home any time. A WG on strap and one on bracelet. I use a private safe house, so I can visit any time, for those last minute mind changes, i.e the wife what should I wear for the ball.

It seems a bit high.

But I would want to know more about the watch before I jumped to the conclusion that the entire place was a "rip-off".

There may hve been a story or history with this GMT, or possibly it was much older and more rare than you thought..

Of course, you might be right too...

Thank's all..........I don't think they knew what they actually had, as it seems most of the store was rings & other jewelery like that.
