Very nice pic of your DD. Now, lets play name-that-car. From you pic, I can't tell what car it is? I see it's got a stop/start function, so it might be a Merc? But that emblem thing in the center console is something I don't recognise?

Yes it's a Mercy CLS350 fully AMG kitted.
The emblem is the AMG emblem..

Over here, cars cost a bomb.
a new 911 Turbo will set you back USD650k....yes thats US dollars six hundred and fifty thousand. and you are only allowed to keep it for 10 years.

Welcome to crazy Singapore!

What??? You serious??? And I thought Australia was expensive, a 911 Turbo is around $360k here!

Why can you only keep them for 10 years?? I can't imagine the resale value of cars that are approaching 10 years?

Singapore is one of the world's most expensive places to own a car. They are heavily taxed by the government as a disincentive to own.You would need a certificate of entitlement ( which lasts 10 years)in order to be able to purchase a car and that can cost significantly as well.

Oh my gosh, I see what you mean, I've just gone to Google and found this, http://www.expatsingapore.com/content/view/1152/

I can't believe you have to bid in a draw just to be able to own a car there!

Ridiculous but true.
A Certificate of entitlement to own a car (above 1.6liters) for 10 yrs currently stands at S$90k , thats more than AUD65k just for a bloody certificate and you havent even smell the car yet.

wanna keep the car at the end of 10 yrs? Pay for another Certificate.

well done singapore.
