First Rolex ever!!!
Hello all,
I'm a newbie from Texas who after wanting a Rolex for almost 35 years (I'm 50), just ordered his first ever - a pre-owned men's TT Datejust 16233 with blue dial and jubilee bracelet. Twice previously I had come extremely close to buying my dream watch but held off, rationalizing there were many ways to more responsibly spend my money. Then last week my fiance said, "Look, why go to the grave wishing you'd always had one - just get it." Basically she tipped the scale and I made the plunge. The watch is a 1997 model, looks to be in excellent condition with better than average bracelet stretch, 100% auth. and has all links, original box and papers. The watch should be in my hands this Wednesday. Once I've got it and head to my jeweler to authenticate, I'll post a pic and tell you all more about my purchase experience. Color me excited! |

Congrats and would love to see piics. Also I'd suggest you take it to your nearest RSC for a full service and while they're at it they will authenticate. You also end up with documented evidence that it's truly yours.

My dream watch too. A TT Datejust with blue dial, except a 16013. Finally got it at age 57. I would post a picture but my IPad won't let me. Congratulations. IMO it never goes out of style.

Congrats on your first!
My first ROLEX was a DATEJUST TT 16103 on a jubilee bracelet, and I still love it. Wear it in good health!

Thanks guys! I'm quite stoked at the moment. The watch was just serviced a couple weeks ago, but I'm going to have my jeweler verify that as well. Pics to some in a couple days.

We all know that "first ever" feeling and congrats. Ignore that other thread about "what's the deal with wristshots" and update everyone with pics ASAP - and enjoy the Rolex afterglow

Congratulations. You made a great choice and were probably correct to finally make the purchase. Hope you'll wear this watch everyday and thoroughly enjoy it.

Another Texan here. Congrats. I remember when I got my Rolex. It was a Milgauss, and I made the mistake of selling it. I'm back with one now, and could not be happier.

Congratulations. Like you I wanted a Rolex for years and got my first at 52. Got my second a week ago at 53. Taking that first leap was the hardest. Now I wonder why I waited.

Congrats and what a long wait!!!! Always buy the seller and post pics. It will be very exciting for you!!! My new wife of 3 weeks is waiting on her DJ right now. I've had all I can handle this month. Wedding (which I didn't pay for), honeymoon, bachelor party, rehearsal dinner, her a Ladies DJ 26 that was supposed to be here before the wedding (bit she could care less), and my AP 44mm ROO Chrono. Then I get slapped with needing tires on my Vette ($1700) and 6 tires on my RV At $565ish tire not mounted..... I'm HURTING this month. tough.
