I think the secret for me is that I see today's best success peak as tomorrow's minimum acceptable performance level.

I was always warm, kind, and considerate of those who worked for me and with me.
I gave credit where credit was due, always politically correct and always toed the corporate line, and never canned anybody if only he tried....... I never took a chance on anything new and always said yes-sir, regardless, and was always concerned about what others thought....I gave everybody a chance regardless of who was the "best qualified" I made it to the top because of natural talent and waiting until it was my turn... . Yep, Sure,.....That's the way I remember it.. |

And how did I succeed in my career? When I was still in the Navy a wiseman once told me: Take care of your people so they can take care of the customers!
I've always given 110% and always took care of my people and my people were good to me and life was good for everyone and we had fun doing it! |

I lied, cheated, and stole. But what do expect. I'm a lawyer.

I just do what my parents raised me to do.
Always put my family first. Work hard. Play hard. That's what they did. That's what I do. And I'm raising my kids to do the same.

I'm very executive
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . -ish... Ohhh ok, it was worth a try. Opportunity doesn't alway knock on your door. Sometimes it just sits in the corner waiting to be noticed.

I make good money, but not enough where I am happy. I'm finally in a career that I want to be in, but I still feel that I have a lot to learn. I have no kids, so I don't feel successful in family. I have some nice material things, but those are not real measurements of success. One of these days, I'll be successful in something. |

Besides what Allan said....
It also depends where you are in life.. I've had an active and exciting career..and many would say it was successful, although standards of success are subjective. ..I just don't have any more windmills I feel the need to attack... I still have goals, they just aren't "success" oriented.. Life can be fullfilling once you're off the success treadmill.. |

Hard work (working hard, taking challenges, never quiting, training and eduation)
Grace of God (opening doors, protecting me, giving me a moral foundation, and putting me in the right place at the right time) Parents (right upbringing giving me my values and a stable family, and always suppotive) And also have to thank the Actress Angelina Jolie for getting me started on the Management track. |
