Differences in "M" series SS Sub date vs older series?
Latest series is M correct? Are there any noticeable differences in the Z or F?

dwaine,
There isn't any real functional difference between a "Z", or an "M" Sub. In the late Z models they did away with the paper and went to the credit card style warranty card. Also, some late "Z", and some early "M" models may be found with the engraved rehaut around the dial. (chapter ring) Here's a pic of what that looks like on a solid gold "Z" model. and a ND SS "M" model> |

SOME Z-series SS Subs have the OLD-style COSC paperwork, whereas ALL M-series will have the CCCC (COSC Credit Card Certificate).
The CRB, however, seems to show inconsistancies in terms on what series have it or not. SOME late Z-series have the CRB, some M-series DON'T have the CRB. Apparantly, Rolex made Z- and M-serial cases simultaneosly and applied chapter rings at random.

Not a Sub, but my Z series Explorer II has a CC style warranty, but no CRB.
The later Z and M series Explorer II have the CRB. |
