So a difficult one. The lume is crazy on the DJII but I wonder whether you would tire of the novelty.....

The GMTIIC is such a classic iconic and useful watch and with the travelling you do back to Sicily would also be a great tool watch too. But if you really want that bit of gold, I would just wait and save for the TT..... It really adds that bit of glamour I think you crave and I also think it would really suit you.....

Dino, I believe I would go for the GMT IIc now. And then seeing how you're looking for two tone or all gold someday, then add a TT DJII (or an all gold DD) when you have the means.

I'm not normally a TT guy, but there are some TT DJ II's out there that are really amazing...particularly like the slate dial with the green Romans...

I always go by the maxim "form follows function." If you need the GMT's alternate time zone function, then get the GMT. Otherwise go with the Datejust. Having superfluous functions is like a fat man in a track suit.

I think it all depends on whether or not you intend on flipping them to get your gold. If so, I would say get the GMT as you'll take a smaller hit on that than the DJ2 as well as it being a stunning watch and one that really can be worn with anything.

However, if you plan on keeping this one and not flipping it to contribute towards gold, I say go for the DJ2 - it is a beauty and one that I think every collection needs and would complement your gold brilliantly!

Recently I went through the same dilemma.

Was trying out the DJII dark rhodium dials with diamonds at the hour markers. Very nice but a bit dark in general. Then I tried a few more DJIIs, ss, but still there was something missing there.

On the evening prior to me purchasing the watch, I thought about the TT DJIIs. There are a couple of models which are very nice, such as the one with gold Romans or Arabic dials on black. I've tried both and can ascertain you it's a stunning combo. I ended up getting a TT Daytona the next day but a DJII is still on my radar.

Point is - if you want gold, it is best if you wait, in case you can't really stretch and get it now. From the very little I've read in here and seeing pics of watches in your wrist, a TT will take the fit and looks of the watch in your wrist to a higher level, I believe this will suit you much more.

i would pick the Datejust. The GMT big number on bezel bothers me. I prefer the vintage GMT text on bezel approach.
