Help needed: Setting time and date
Sometimes when i try to set the time and date i have a problem as follows:
First i unscrew the crown then wind it 40 times then pull it again to adjust the date as of yesterday's date and then when i try to pull more to adjust the time but the crown refused to be pulled more to the time position (it seems possible if i only pulled so hard but am afraid of damaging the crown) so i have to screw back the crown and fully unscrew to adjust the time. Should i pull harder or first pull fully to adjust the time then push back to change the date and finaly screw the crown back? |

It happens sometimes, if my Sub is stopped, I first set the date
a day before, then set the time to make sure the date advances, then let it run again, then pull the crown so it stops at 12, then use my iPhone world clock to set it exactly when the time changes. Of course idiot doesn't exactly hit the minute marker perfect, I pull the crown and wait or the next minute. |

When I encounter this, I turn back the crown a little and it pulls out easily.

I seem to have the same issue with my yachtmaster. I can pull the crown one to wind it, twice to set the date, but it won't advance to the last notch to set the time. I tried turning it a bit and then pull it to the last notch, but I really can't seem to get it to move. I don't want to force anything and pull off the crown doing so.
Any ideas? |

My Cal 3135 Datejust was so tight when new that I took it an AD for setting the time. She showed me the idea is to pull it hard, in essence it won't break off.

Thanks for your reply. I really can't seem to pull any harder, it's starting to slightly hurt my thumb if I do. I don't want to go 100% of my strength on it, but I'm really putting about 60-70% of my strength into it I think.

I always thought you set the date and time first then wind your watch, I don't know if it will make any difference but no harm in trying.
