This is actually really a dilemma.
I did not take a picture of a body shot with the watch.
But just lemme clarify... I am 6 feet tall but weight 195 pounds... big on the mid section... but small wrists...
When I put on the 15400 and look at the mirror... it's actually OK.
When I put on the ro chrono at 39mm... it's a tad small.
That is the whole package I am talking about... not just the wrist and watch.
So, when I choose to ask here for opinions, of course I would like honest ones.
Thing is, when alot of ppl commented that it looks too big, I started doubting myself.
Did I "force" myself to like the 15400 earlier? Why am I having 2nd thoughts?
So... instead of getting easier... this have turned harder...

For you, the opposite might be true if your are 6'4" and 250lbs. But we are all not the same size so again, bigger is not always better. There comes point where it looks funny on a smaller guy with a gigantic watch, I call it the "Flavor Flav Syndrome".

Certainly to each his/her own, and respect opinions.

I am 180 lbs with a small 6.5" wrist and love the 41mm and 44mm--own both and enjoy both.

Do I care if someone might think they are too large, not really.

Why, because it's my money and opinion that really matter at the end of the day.

Again, everyone does what's best for them.

As I disagree it looks like a 'plate' on his wrist--far from. But there we go, everyone has an opinion.

Great news, only he can make the decision, and whichever way OP goes, it's an AP which is FANTASTIC

ok so you are not that small.....don't make this overly complicated.

if YOU like the way the 15400 looks and the ROC seemed small, then the 15400 is the one for you! that's it, done!

Well, wait till you see all the colour. Supply is normally limited. But just wait. Few months down the road, you will see more coming. Usual trick of sale to close sale. Not to worry.

15400 is not that big i will say. Also, i guess due to the angle of your wrist shot, i notice my watch tends to look much bigger than my wrist in the picture. You should know very well which fits you better.

I wished there was a AP dealer in my area. All I get to see here are the occasional pre-owned ones. I did try a 39mm ROC and while the size looked OK, the lugs left gaps due to my more flat than rounded wrist. I liked it so much but it just didn't feel right. Really must try on one of the 15300 soon.

Dont worry about the gap. When i first tried it out at AD, i thought the lugs are not curvy enough for my wrist too (ROO and not RO). The watch is brand new, so they dont let me buckle up. Guess that makes a lot of difference. After I bought it, I will say the watch actually fit my wrist very well. So much so until i dont really feel like taking it out sometime.

Despite the discussions and also comments...
I have been to the AD four times to try out the watch again and again looking at the mirror and checking the size.
And i have come to the decision that I like it.
Might look too big to some of you but not too me.
And I have also decide to go with the black dial as I believe it suits me more.

In the past, I have worn 44mm Sinn U1, 42mm Damasko Chrono and they all looked and feel good... and after wearing 40mm Sports Rolexes, they initially felt small, but after warming up to the size and wearing them for a long long time, anything above 40 feels big...
Sometimes the body and mind just need some time to adapt.
After trying for 4 times... I know I have made the right decision.
But nevertheless, I thank all of you that have commented in this thread and giving a noob like me some good pointers. Cheers!!

The size looks good on your wrist mate!

40/41 mm is the ideal size for eveything!

I think the 41mm looks fine. I have a 6" wrist (although flatter vs rounder) and I felt the 39mm RO and ROC were both a little small.

Of course, I normally wear a GMTc, which has much more wrist presence, so it's all relative and comes down to personal preference.

Out of curiosity, how would you compare e 15400 to the GMTIIc? Just curious because I have a ROC and was thinking of getting a GMT. Thanks

Hi, I think the 15400 looks great on your wrist. It fits very well despite the large case.
To me, all the 3 dial colors are nice for the 15400. Black and white can easily match all clothing. Blue is unique and sporty too. I believe you should go with your heart.

I can't speak to the 15400 because I haven't seen one in person yet, but I know the 15300 and the the 39mm ROC feel significantly smaller when compared to the GMT.

The entire RO line seems much thinner with smaller dials than modern Rolexes, so you don't get that same feeling of wrist presence, which I think psychologically makes them appear much smaller.

The ROC in particular feels small because of the subdials, which make it appear busier and more compact. After trying the 39mm ROCs on multiple times, I was convinced the 41mm would be perfect on me since it would wear more closely to the GMT.

All that being said, I really think the 39mm ROC was fine on me but I just needed more time to get used to it. If I was going for a normal RO though, I get the feeling the 39mm would be just as appropriate as the 41mm.
