I have 3 Rolexes but have never been accused of wearing a fake. Then again I'm 41 and don't go to clubs.

One of the nicest people i know wears a fake Rolex. He doesnt know its fake or care since it was a gift. Doesnt make him lying to himself or degrade him in te slightest way. Who cares seriously. At the end of the day its just a watch.

Sound advice.

Let him think what he wants to think and don't let it bother you.

There are all types of people and it's also especially hard to reason with someone when they're drunk. I'd just laugh it off and say something like "well it's good enough for me" and leave it at that.

Not sure how it would pan out, but my first reaction would be to say something like, "You obviously don't know how to recognize the real thing when you see it."

Probably best to say nothing, but there's a bet in there somewhere I know I would win, so maybe something simple like, "How much would you be willing to wager in front of all these people, or are you not willing to back up what you say?"

Yeah, probably best to say nothing, but these weren't strangers, so to me, that's where I open my big fat mouth and put him in his place, gently and diplomatically of course, with a nice wager he can welch on later if he wants to show more of his true colors to the others who were present when the bet was made.

No-lose situation there. I'll still have the real rolex, and he'll be choking on crow with the added bonus of having to fork over some dough on a bad bet.

Yeah, probably best not to say anything, but fun to think about nevertheless. Maybe you can send him some info on the DeepSea -- passing along a brochure featuring the DSSD, provided by a local Tourneau with their name stamped on it, would be a very nice gesture.

An accusation is slanderous if it be false.
A query even if wrong is just a query.

First off... it's time to find some new friends..... even if they're "friends of friends."

Second, I would kindly remind the person that real ones always look fake to the people who don't know better. Say nothing else.... it'll get the message across and humiliate him.... as he should be.

Oh yeah! Drunk Scottsdale idiots..... My favorite............

It wouldn't even warrant a response in my book. The guy obviously made himself look more like a douchebag calling your real Rolex fake, and made him self sound even worse that he has a "guy" at Torneau(quite possibly the wort watch boutique to do business with, not to mention absurd prices).

Don't sweat it amigo. Not worth your time.

People know me to well to know I'd NEVER wear fake anything, do I've never gotten that.

I'm not sure I would care either. I'm not even sure people will even notice and I assume that some will think it is fake as there is a really fuzzy line to some people. They think a fake rolex is a discounted rolex. I know a few people that I work with that have bought Channel and Gucci bags when in Thailand. I'm not sure if they know that the items are knock offs or if they think they come from the same factory and are just sold without markup. Either way, I just wouldn't care is someone thinks my watch is fake.

I said "DeepSea" because 1) I don't want to seam like a pretentious a**hole and 2) I don't want the pretentious a**holes, and shallow girls here in Scottsdale liking me because they think I have a Rolex.

He grabs my wrist and says to the group "He's wearing a fake Rolex!!!" (while laughing).

I politely disagree but after a few minutes of trying to explain to him what I have on I give up. Apparently he's an experts and He says that he buys all his watches from "his guy" at the local Tourneau (sp?) store and he has never seen that Rolex there before.

Tourneau isn't an AD and every time I've been in the local and very tiny store all I see are beatup Sub's in the preowned section.

Have you ever had a person say yours is a fake when they obviously have no frickin clue what they are talking about? It seems that if it's not a Sub or GMT people who do not know Rolex think it's a fake.

My CEO told me to time something with my "timex" a couple days ago - my 1680 red sub.

I have been accused of wearing fake pateks, breitling, rolex, etc etc.

I just smile and say, "amazing what the chinese can do for 20 dollars"

I feel rather uncomfortable when someone notices I have a 10-20k watch on my wrist.

Never try to make sense with a drunk, even if he was was sober I wouldn't give him the satisfaction of responding to him unless its a close friend and you are just trying to school him on the in & out of your watch.

It's happened to me, too.

I simply said, "There's no such thing as a fake Rolex. (Insert a chorus of objections). Then I said that a watch is either a Rolex or it's not and left it at that.

In time the skeptics began to realize their folly and were appropriately humbled by the experience.

Of course, what others choose to believe about my watch is really of no concern to me.

What really annoys me is that by implying or overtly stating that I am wearing a counterfeit, the skeptic impugns my integrity.

Just remember that the truth is what really counts and the truth always prevails.
