Lost in Translation

Saw this movie last night on Netflix...
Didn't know what to think but turned out it was GREAT. I am not sure why I liked it so much...might be partly because I could "relate" to it as I travel to Japan and China.

Anyone else see it? Bill Murray was great in it.

Afterwards I checked it out on Rotten Tomatoes and WOW I guess I am late on this movie...everyone loved it!?

Anyway I recommend.

I guess people like it because it has a un-hollywood ending, neither happy or sad but something more like real life,or maybe it`s because he doesn`t want to bed her from the moment he lays eyes on her.

Yeah but the ending does have a nice twist...the "wonder what he said in her ear"...

I like Murray better in the Aquatic Life of Steve Zissou.

I was going to suggest Broken Flowers. One of my favorite all time movies ... similar tone but much better in my opinion.

UGH!
Just watched Broken Flowers and I had so much hope...then the ending!!?????

I found the story interesting (almost silly) but it didn't lose me...I could never figure out who the mom was. Then the son was that him? The ending???!!

It could have been soooo much more IMHO.

I guess movies are so related to our personal experiences that it's hard to recommend. Same reason why I like Lost in Translation so much...I could relate due to my personal experiences.

Anyway. It was a Ok movie "for me" and I was glad I saw it. I am really digging Bill lately. Thanks for recommending it....

Bill Murray deserved an Oscar for his performance in this film IMHO. At least he got nominated.

I loved that movie for three reasons:

1) Scarlet Johansen
2) Bill Murry
3) Cinematography (visually beautiful movie)

Yes Bob, I totally agree.

Did anybody catch the Rolex he had on throughout the movie? I wanna say that it was a DJ or DD.

Great movie. I have been to that bar where they meet. Pretty swanky.
