Diamond dial on YG President, added value????

Can any member tell me how much a diamond dial "Silver Jubilee Serti" adds to the value of a 10 year old YG President Day Date #118238 in excellent condition??? I do not see enough of these in the "For Sale" section to determine the actual added value of a diamond dial (I am including a picture of a similar dial below, but my diamonds show up much better).

Thank you!

Diamond dials usually add $3-4k on the price of a new watch. Pre-owned, I guess it would only added maybe $1.5-2k extra to the price? (I'm just guessing here ...)

I would say it depends on supply/demand. But 1-2k sounds reasonable.

Authentic and original dials (not refinished ones) add value. In a 10 year old watch, the wear & tear, bracelet condition and a poor service record can easily dilute that added value.

A diamond dial may not add much, if anything to the market value of a used watch..

Market demand dictates the value of a watch Serti dials are not in demand, so the market pool is very small.

If you choose to add a large "premium" because of the dial, it may be a very long time before a buyer comes along at that price point..

Thank you for your response. What exactly is a "Serti Dial"? I just took this off my paperwork, and used it here on this thread. I doubt a diamond dial would hurt the value of a President, but if I read you correct, there are just not a bunch of buyers running around saying they have to have one.

What about the Silver Jubilee Dial itself? This is what got me to buy this watch in the first place, loved the combination of this dial with the YG... looks cream colored.

A 'serti' dial is a dial with gemstones set in it ... see http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=132524

I'd estimate the 8 diamond 2 baguette in a 118238 can add $1500

Typically I see 10 year old 118238 list for 14-16k whereas with diamonds I'd see it 15-17k

But just ballpark

Have to agree Larry this is why so many are at ADs quite a bit longer than the SS watches. Simply because they are slow sellers, and to add a diamond dial to a ten year watch if bought at Rolex retail, I would doubt if you would get your out lay back.

Agreed. After doing my homework, you nailed the pricing on the head. Thank you for your input!
