Replace Hands and Dial?

They're slightly creamy (albeit dead) tritium and original to the watch (N serial). The watch is away at RSC and I'm waiting to be asked what I would like to be done with it. I like the character/uniqueness that the slightly creamy lume adds, but now I'm wondering whether working luminova would be even better? What would you do?

Working Lume on a Daytona is almost pointless. Yes, on a good dark night you can see the lume.. but most of the time it just isn't much..

The good news is that your Daytona will not suffer any valule hit with a change of dial should you decide that you want the lume to "work"

Personally, I can always find a light source to see my watch with and can't really say that lume is a big enough issue to change any of my watch dials for.

Very true about the thin hands. Unless the gold is corroded, I would leave them original. That's just me and my humble opinion.

Agreed re the very minimal impact of lume on the standard Daytona dial--different story with the pandas and other dials with the large lume arabic numerals, where the lume does make a difference.

I had a dead tritium dial S/S GMT. The RSC said the dial and hands had spots on them and they recommended I replace them. I wore the watch a lot and got tired of not being able to see the time at night, so I went along with their recommendations. It is nice to see the time in the dark.

That being said, I would not touch that watch, it is beautiful!

I do not know how the RSC does it in the U.K., but here (RSC BH) they give you a list of what needs to be done and possibly a list of what they suggest be done. If you do not have that it may be a good idea to get in touch and ask them if you can do it if you still want to.

The gold is fine, especially on the indices. The hands are a little stained in places though it's only visible with a loupe. The facets on them still shine. I think I might leave it be unless, for some odd reason it is an RSC requirement. ...I don't know though, the two things I've missed with this watch are a date, and lume!
