Thoughts on Jules Audemars Classic Chrono

Just wondering what people think of this watch and movement? I've been offered 50% off retail on a used one...

I wish I could see the movement like on the or 5170. Of course those are considerably more expensive...

Love it. I think the dial is ceramic if I am not mistaken. As a dress watch.... gorgeous (Suits, blazers n jeans etc).

Nice, but I would get it after I got some RO/ROO.

Quite the contrary for me if I may say so myself! I love its vintage look! The two sub-dials, the arabic numerals in a very nice shape...this watch looks very classy to me!

EDIT: I must add that the creamy dial and the red minute markers do give the watch a wonderful look as well!

I like it, but I must admit, my favorite AP is hands down the Royal Oak series.

But I do really like this one with it's cream dial!

Jules Audemars is my favorite AP model. This one is unusually nice. Agree with Demonoid that the dial looks ceramic or enamel--lovely ivory finish recalling watches of the 1920s. It has that "hunter" look with black and red markings on an ivory background. The sunken subdials suggest substance. The sporty italicized numbers provide counterpoint for the conservatively shaped case--so the watch looks both contemporary and traditional. That font works because the case is so understated (imagine it on an RO) and because someone is a very talented graphic designer. A striking looking watch for all seasons and occasions.

I like it a lot, but as previously stated I'd get it only after I had a ro or roo (which is what I got). I think it looks amazing in person and if I had the cash would certainly do it.

I'm confused about this statement, since the Jules Audemars Classic Chrono has an exhibition back.

I went to my ad yesterday and had it in hand. Very interesting piece in dead. He told me that they are being discontinued... Any one knows if this is true?

Just seeing this thread...any word if it will actually be discontinued? I'd love to see a wrist shot if anyone owns this

I love it, but the out of house modular chrono movement makes it a non-starter for me. I have a feeling the recent discontinuations of watches with the chrono modules means that AP will be introducing an in house integrated chrono movement.

Who makes this particular modular chrono? I thought this one was all in-house.

It's all inhouse movement. It's the same calibre all ROO have.
