Didn't you mean this?

if ((do you like the ones you have) == false)
{

}
else
{
no swap;
}

In other words, if you don't like the one's you have, do the swap. Otherwise, keep your current two.

I remember an old saying that seems appropriate here: "if it sounds too good to be true...it probably is!" I wont believe it until I see the pics. Sorry

I've heard more than a few people who had both Daytona's (the older ones with the Zenith and the modern ones with in-house movement) all say they preferred the Daytona with the Zenith movement - I heard this across the board.

Just some food for thought.

Absolutely I'd do it.
Almost doesn't make sense as to why he proposed that trade..

And there's no conditions? Like he'll do that swap if you buy something else? If so that's a storming deal!

Sounds too good to be true. Your AD would be on the losing end.

Here's mine:
I can't imagine how he made this offer, but I would not think twice. Unless your Daytona has true sentimental value which is sounds like it does.

Sorry I'm just not buying this. It just doesn't make sense. I can't imagine that the AD or Franck Muller service center didn't polish the watch prior to pressenting it back to you. A couple of scratches is a relatively easy fix for most AD's or any service center for that matter. To note the white gold crazy hour has a high polish finish to it which is even easier to buff and polish. Also, what warrants the couple thousand dollar loss for the AD... A couple of scratches that can be buffed out...

This isn't a deal that sounds too good to be true, it's a deal that doesn't make sense.

Not sure whether I'd do it, to be honest, but that mostly has to do with preferring the 40mm Explorer II over the super case LV.

This also isn't necessarily that bad a deal for the dealer; the Zenith Daytona can go for as much as MSRP on a new Daytona and ADs may charge what the market will bear for a used piece, while Rolex would flip if they marked up a brand new one.

So it seems the loss he's taking on the LV is his total cost in this transaction, which sounds approximately the same as the discount offered on a new watch as a make good on the damage to the FM. Perhaps he's even banking on those accumulating some collector value in the not too distant future.
