SD stopped working
I was hoping to get some advice from those who have worked with a RSC. I have a 2005 Sea Dweller that I purchased from a reputable dealer on this forums in August. I have been wearing the watch to work each week since but it stopped working tonight. I wound it 40 times and it ran for 30 seconds but no longer.
I live on the north side of Atlanta and was hoping to get some advice for working with the RSC. I assume I have to work through a Rolex Authorized dealer in order to use the RSC, but what price should I expect and how long should I expect to be without my watch. Any help or advice is appreciated, thanks. |

Jeff, you can call the RSC and deal with them yourself....There's no need to use an AD as a middleman.
They will send you a kit for posting to them, and by dealing direct, all correspondence is direct to you. You'd be looking at around $700 for a service + any parts needed that are out of a general service requirement. As for time, depending on how busy they are, 4 to 6 weeks seems to the norm! Best of luck!

Maybe it is just a broken mainspring and the next AD can fix it for much less ?

I didn't think the AD could make any repairs to a Rolex, I thought they had to send it off to the RSC?

Some ADs have in-house watch-makers, and they could likely do a small repair. I'd take it to a Rolex AD initially, but call and explain first, so you don't waste your time, if they are just going to say they can only send it to the RSC.

To the OP: I like to suggest Rik because he has treated me so well and been so gracious every time I talked to him or needed work done. He does superb work, and his turn-around time is half or less than Rolex.
Something to consider, as Rik will treat you right.

+1 - Rik has fully refurb'd (read: made like new) my 16660, my 5513, did a minor ($35) repair on a bell & ross, and is currently working on my SMP co-ax. I couldn't recommend him more. All original parts as well (he has a parts account).
