I think you're good to go.

I think your friend is a little light on his Rolex knowledge.

Paul,if you still have doubt take it to Damiani Jewellers in Woodbridge and talk to the watchmaker on site most of the time they will do it for FREE otherwise they will make pay somthing like $30 to open and look at the movement just to make you happy.

it looks good so far.
welcome to TRF

The sub in the pics you posted is real.

Your friend doesn't now squat though, as very few Rolex's has anything engraved on the case back.

You said you got the box and papers, since you have a model with holes in the case its pretty easy to remove the bracelet and check that the numbers on the watch match the numbers on the papers. Maybe a little more peace of mind for you. Also, which way did the hands turn when you turned the crown clockwise?
I would have to agree with the others that the pictures posted look good.

I do see one area of concern. On the last picture Paul posted (this one), the triangle seems to be 180 degrees from where it should be.

Relax, it's fine. Actually, quite a clean example. Enjoy and welcome

It looks good to me, as well. Another way to try is that when it hits 12 am, the date changes instantaneously.

Not sure if that was actually true or not. There was a thread in the rolex general discussion forum about this and many people said that it ranges from right at 12 up to 10 minutes after...

Hope that helps at all but with everyone saying it looks great I wouldn't be that concerned about it anymore.

Just enjoy the new club you have joined haha and hopefully I'll see you there one day as well

Almost right. A Rolex will snap dates yes but not necessarily right at midnight depending on how the hands were installed.

If it`s a fake it`s the best I`ve ever seen,in other words it looks real.

If you`re still in doubt take it to Rolex Canada on St. Clair Ave and they will give it the once over for your piece of mind.

Have you checked the serial number compared to your paperwork?

Wow!

To all responders thank you... you have all made me feel much better.
I will post a few more high quality pics shot, in focus this time, from a proper camera for one last look.

Thanks Hanybad and Roberneville for the additional offers of help.

This place is amazing!

This thread is 7 months old... I think he would have taken action if he was in doubt.....

BTW, your friend based "no engraving on the caseback", he really doesn't know Rolex, hahaha.
I'm sure this means his friend is an aficionado of those "other" types of watches we do not discuss on this forum

I had trouble with my bezel. Iit was a GMT and went both ways. It did not click right and I thought it was the spring. I had the spring replaced by a jeweler and it worked for a while and stopped working. The watch was a Rolex, but, the RSC informed me bezel insert was not. They replaced it for $51 during the service and now it is all Rolex and works fine.
