I find the subc to be more comfy. DSSD is heavy, and I prefer lighter watches if it can!

I am sorry but until Rolex gets over their "Bigger is Better" fixation they have lost me. The SD 16600 is the Ultimate in my book. Cheers -Ron

I have been lucky enough to own both and I am in no doubt that the best watch is the Sub-C - it really is way ahead of the SD (and I owned an SD as a daily wearer for 5 years). I would imagine though that most on this forum will suggest you purchase the SD but IMO it is vastly over-hyped.

16600 here too. I prefer the cleaner no cyclops look, and I'm not the type to go modify my crystal to remove the cyclops. Plus I prefer the slightly thicker SD case as well.

Why would you mention the serial letter when there are other posts on another thread here today which say this is irrelevant to the desirability or value of the watch? I don't really understand this.

my ad says its possible some V - SD's may be ones with the parachrom hairspring which would make it more collectible and a V is the last run for the older SD. it makes a difference based on cost to own etc... i see V series SD's with stickers asking for more than Sub-C's already.

You are basically considering two completely different watches, one is jewelery, the other is pure tool.

When I owned a Sub C, I flat out did not enjoy wearing it. The case/bracelet proportions are all off, the ceramic is way to shiny and the clasp is too long.

The SD is pretty much the perfect diver, go get one.
