Just my 2 cents, but I'd like to see Bond wearing a DJ II, or a Sub C at times.

Couple of brief points,

1) Lindy Hemming chose Omega for Bond http://blogs.christies.com/longitude...s-omega-watch/
2) Omega and EON have a co-marketing agreement, rather than a product placement arrangement, as has been mentioned in this thread
3) Bond was a Special Boat Service Commander, what do the real SBS wear? Yeap. Omega, and once again, they asked. http://ialreadyhaveawatch.com/2008/1...mited-edition/

The Sky Dweller would be about as appropriate as a Hublot Big Bang on Bond.

^Exactly.
These Rolex owners are like Apple fans...sheesh. Let it go people, Rolex isn't God's gift to spies.
<this guy loves Apple, btw.
If you don't like DC Bond movies, you must not like movies. Olga Kurylenko was reason enough to watch the previous one. Take the name James Bond out of the equation and these are just plain good old bad ass action movies. DC is the most physical kick but 007 ever.

Lol, true. I guess his agreement is purely "James Bond" associated and not Daniel Craig associated. He does like him some Rolex.

I thought that I heard that there was a version of the new "bond watch" that was made at DC's request that was much less themed. I looked at and tried on the new skyfall and itis fab, great in house movement, great feel, but $6000. Guess it is cheaper than a sub, or some other sport watches, but i will find a used one. And save 40%, which is why if i buy new, it is Rolex.

On the 60 minutes report ta couple of weeks ago, the bond people said that they don't get paid to use products on the 007 films However they do enter into co-promotional agreements. In other words for example Omega pays for the add that sells both the watch and the movie.

I don't consider the fact that Tiger Wood's is under contract to Rolex a "higher standard".

+1. The Rolex marketing machine is usually a bit more subtle. As for Bond, he should obviously wear a Calatrava or a VC ultra thin with the suit.

That might be the blue dialled Aqua Terra he wore for most of the film. The other watch that DC is associated with is a blue dialled Hour Vision which was done in conjunction with Orbis, the flying eye hospital. Omega donated a substantial sum to the charity

It's amazing how paid product placement works. The amount on on screen time that a Heineken gets in the new Skyfall is wild. The label perfectly lined so in your line of sight etc. I wonder if Rolex even bid for the product placement back for Goldeneye when Omega took over....

Here hear.
What entertainers wear have absolutely no meaning to me, let along what they wear when they are on stages/in movies.

I saw the film tonight....oh boy.....Bond is still Bond....a most excellent film.

Am I the only person reading this debate about why Bond has changed his watch since the early films to notice that he's also changed his wardrobe too?
Surely in 50 years it's not unlikely that someone - even a secret agent - should change their watch? Maybe he was given the new one as a present?
Perhaps his friends at work clubbed together to buy it for his 40th birthday? Or maybe it was a gift from his aunt?
Does nobody think it strange that he's not wearing the same suits or shoes that he wore in the beginning? So why expect him to. Wear the same watch?
Perhaps more people on here would like him to wear Rolex again so they can say that JB wears the same watch as they do (not the other way around)?

I wore my blue sub to see Skyfall last night. I kept staring at and thinking how much better Bond would look wearing a blue Sub vs that blue Omega.

PS: I'm a fan of blue Omegas
