Rolex advice explorer 1 39mm!!

Hi all,

I am looking for some help. I have had my awesome submariner no date for a few months but I can't seem to get the Rolex Explorer 1 39mm out of my head. This is unfortunate because I'm a determined soul.

I need some help or suggestions like (hey vin, stop being dumb and selfish) on finding a Rolex Explorer 1 39mm used to trade my 2002 Y serial Rolex Submariner No Date 14060M + some cash with.

If anyone can help or may know someone who's willing to break even on a deal please let me know. I will find a way to repay you for your help. I'm big on paying it forward.

Respectfully,

Vin

Ahh I bet. I need to get my hands on this or a sub 4 liner 14060M. But no one seems to be able to have either.

I'd assume the Sub 4 liner COSC no date would be more practical in a trade for mine. Anyway anyone can help let me know!!

You need both... save for the explorer and you will have no regrets!

it's a very mellow watch but with sport lineage. i love how they removed the 'fake lume' from the roman numerals and you just get the nice white gold effect on them. catch light in very different ways. matte black dial is great too.

i had one briefly. it was nice but after wearing a milgauss and dssd, it felt small. the polished bezel is also very scratch prone. it is however a nice multi role rolex with a flip-lock that wears well in the water, with a suit or casual and the understated look is nice if you don't like a standout model. prices also seem very good on the secondary market and new ones are generally well adjusted at volume sales ad's.

if you're not into pcl's and shine, keep the 14060M or even try a 36mm exp, or 116660 while still keeping the 14060M. they're about $3 - $3500 used and it will wear fairly similar to a 39mm exp. the 2mm are vaguely noticeable.

if you're ok with pcl's, you may also want to try a black milgauss at the same time as its a little more substantial with more engineering tech and they're about the same price used.

good luck!

no worries... buy it anywhere but just do your research and buy the seller. just remember, if you dump the 14060M, you'll want one back for the collection within 6 months.

betting starts now.

Hahah you are spot on with the dumping the 14060M comment. Only something us Rolex owners could appreciate and agree with. Fantastic. I think I will look for a 14060M 4 liner instead. Thanks for putting it into perspective for me.

Get the Explorer I. You can always find a new sub if you feel the need for one later. Or if you got the cash for it now, keep the sub and by the explorer also.

The way I do it is I flip until I get to a watch I just love more then anything. So fare that is only my white dial Datejust, but my Milgauss GV is very close. The Explorer II and black dial datejust, even dough they look great I think I can flip for something that feels better.

So flip away to a Explorer I and if it does not feel right, flip back to a sub, Milgauss or maybe datejust?

Both are classics and worth it. The Explorer will wear large because it's all dial.

Vin, Im confused you have a 14060M ? And now you want to trade for an EXP I? If so we have similar tastes! Keep the Sub you will want it. Save and get the EXP I is an awesome watch and on my next to buy list. Don't ever flip a classic.

The 14060m that you have is in my opinion the best rolex ever made. Do not consider trading it for essentially a cheapened version of the same watch without a bezel and reduced water resistance. If you want to buy the explorer to have both that would be ok. Trading away the 14060m is a huge mistake and I guarantee you will regret it.
