What was the last year that ap made a 36mm royal oak for men?

I am looking into getting a ap royal oak. I tried on a 39mm and because of the shape and size of my wrist the lugs overhung. I am not a fan of huge watches as the sub c is the biggest I can go without looking stupid.. I also have a 36mm date just that fits great so I am guessing the ap 36mm would fit great.mi was looking at a Reference number: 25594ST/O/0789ST/05 on the bay that is close to me so I might be able to go check it out in person.. It has the ap clasp but a lot of the 36mm do not have the ap clasp so I am guessing the one I am looking at is a late model right before they got discontinued. I am also thinking of a newer 15450 that is 38mm I believe but it only has one dial color. I would love a 37-38 mm chrono or dual time or moon phase.. I also read that these watches are a fortune to overhaul and if I get a older 36mm then I will prob have to send it in for a overhaul. Does anyone know about how much a moon phase 36mm is to do a full service.. So what I really need to know is what year was the last that ap made a 36mm for men.. I really want a ap next but after trying one 39mm on I was a little disappointed that its did not fit right..

I would love to read up on the history of the royal oak and changes in size and dirrent models.. I do not see alot of people on this forum with the older 36mm models..

My Royal Oak is a 36 mm. Reference 14790st.
From 1995 if I'm not mistaken....

It is a good fit for my wrist! (but I'm looking to upgrade to a 15300..)

PM sent...

Please let me know if you didn't receive it (I couldn't find it in my "sent" box), but I may have a solution for you, 14790-wise... if you don't get my PM, please PM me with your email and I'll send the info.

thanks,
Christina

I think they continued to the mid-2000s with the 14790 and limited editions thereof. The most recent piece I can easily find online is 2005, which would give it a short overlap with the 15300. The moonphases though ended earlier.

They are a pretty responsive company, if you email them I imagine they would give you the details.

Regards

Mark

(PS, first message here -- but thanks for a wonderful forum! Not being 'into' Rolex I only just discovered how enjoyable the AP and other boards are here)

I'll defer to those who know this much better than me. But the Pictet et Cie limited was 2005, and that is basically a 14790. It does seem odd to run a limited edition off an obsolete model. And there are numerous 36mm models through 2005 on chrono24, though I guess it's possible they are all NOS.

It looks like a really nice piece that is fresh from service. I think the price is a bit high, but not unreasonable. Also 2006 papers makes it pretty fresh for a 36mm.

Bought a while ago one of the last 14790 in 36 mm. 2006. Love it. Which patek did you substitute it for? 5119?
