Gator skin men's accessories

hi all- is anyone else here really into alligator skin? Am shopping around for belts and wallets. Paul Stuart and Ralph Lauren make some good ones, but I am wondering if there are some good alternate sources where I don't have to pay for their marketing and branding costs. there are some independent shops on ebay that have good ratings. Wanted to see if someone here has recommendations.

I've had several alligator belts and a purse for my wife made by Flemings in Atlanta. Two I've had for 20 + years and worn often.
A few years back I discovered John Allen Woodward in the Bay Area. He's made two horn back belts, a saltwater croc wallet and my wife a purse. Incredible quality! Here's a pic of my salt water croc wallet. It's about 8 years old and used almost daily. Still not broken in!ImageUploadedByTapatalk1353277860.603953.jpg

bettinardiltd.com. Jimmy is a Bettinardi putter dealer but also sells House of Fleming and a couple other makers including his own label now. Check out his site, click on his exotic leather goods tab and email him any questions. Great customer service.

I've always had good luck with the Florida based ebay sellers. It's not Ralph Lauren, but something simple is well worth the $35 or so

honestly, when it comes to these type of goods you are better off NOT buying from "major " name brands... polo etc.

This post got me thinking of getting a new JAW wallet. I spoke to him the other day and he's going to make me a new alligator piece. Will post a pic when I receive it.

I do enjoy a nice matte-finished alligator product over conventional glossy crocodile

I just checked them out. $500+ for a belt!? http://www.wkleinberg.com/servlet/th...2C-belt/Detail

I thought paying $80 on sale at Allen Edmonds for a belt was a lot.... Dear god.

After this thread began, I started lusting after a new full, larger alligator wallet. I called John Allen Woodward for a consultation and decided on this piece. It's full alligator and larger than my previous wallet but a bit thinner so it fits better in my khaki pants. Love it! Awesome quality as are all my JAW products!

Here's a shot of the interior for those that appreciate a fine quality of finish.

I doubt you'd get alligator for $80 most anywhere... The straps are great, interchangable buckles, and last for years - like good shoes, worth the investment!

Supposed to get it tomorrow. However with the weather being what it is, it might be another day or so.

Fingers crossed.

Thanks again for the link. I've been looking and comparing different wallets for awhile.

I saw this one, and no further comparisons were necessary.

That, or it'll leave me less of them to carry around.
