I need advice for buying my wife a watch for her b-day

I need help choosing a gift for my wife and she is really not that interested in watches. Should I go for it and surprise her or have her pick one out. i have two girls so in the worst case scenario they can have it. She wants a SS watch and doesn't like pink or purple dials. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, she is small and has small wrists. I like the dial on this watch, is this a women's watch or men's? I would appreciate any help choosing a model.

Hard to say from that little picture.

But maybe diamonds on the bezel and hour markers. Maybe a yellow gold and stainless model with diamonds somewhere on it will make it a special present.

I'd suggest bringing up the idea with her and seeing her reaction. Perhaps she would rather have something else?

My suggestion is that if she is not into watches then you should get her what she loves. I know most of us watch enthusiasts want to share our passion with our loved ones but sometimes they are just not interested.

Is your wife into purses? There are a ton of high end bags that most woman would love. I sure some of our female members here can help you out with that

Pass on getting her any automatic watch. Women tend to wear watches as fashion accessories and they can't be bothered with a winder, so setting it every time it comes out of the drawer will be an issue for her. And if she does remember to set it, will she remember to screw the crown back down?

i would give her a mid size, or better, a man's watch with a real small band....the women's watches have such small date windows, you can hardly read them, and the women have been wearing men's watches for some time now....just a thought

Thanks for the input. I just bought her a LV and Burberry in the past year. She does love them a lot. I am getting her Diamond studs for our 5 year anniversary which will blow her away. However, it doesn't really equal what I have spent on myself in the last year. She doesn't spend a lot on her self. The watch would even it out. She doesn't really like the bling and gold on them so that leaves me with SS. I will have to drag her into a store. Lucky for me the mall a mile away has an AD in it.

my wife is not into watches but she likes the movado I got her a few years ago and she said if she ever got a Rolex she'd want a platinum one because she loves platinum, so needless to say it'll be about a decade before I buy her one.

she'd rather I spend the money on my gold Daytona and I'd rather spend the money on real estate...

I agree with others in this thread that you should talk with her about it and take her to Vegas and look at the selection of models til one talks to her heart

Watches are so personal - to me. Let her pick it out. I don't like the bling bling either but i don't like the ss either. I like solid gold. She may like solid gold because it is "classic" and the LV and Burberry are classic tastes. I'll get she would love a solid gold dress watch or a solid gold date just with jubilee. I don't personally like the jubilee bracelets. I would prefer leather or gold mesh but that's because I love vintage and tend to lean toward that styling.
