Christmas Rolex

My Wife normally wears a small gold coloured Seiko quartz watch on a black leather strap.
The other day, I must admit, on a bit of an impulse, as a Christmas present, I went into my local Rolex authorised dealer and purchased for her :-

Rolex ladies oyster perpetual datejust with black dial, baton dial markers and 18kt white gold fluted bezel No.197194

Since a few hours after the puchase the thought occured that surposing she does not like it? I have since realised that perhaps I should have taken her into the shop. But I did not, so now I have had one or two nights where sleep could have been a tad better!
Or well - I must explain that the Wife has been particularly superb this year having rubber stamped the purchase of a very nice BMW 320D M-sport in Estoril Blue plus a nice range of extras.
Am just hoping she's going to like it on Christmas Day!

Welcome to the forum!

I'm sure she'll love it, it's a wonderful gesture - did you get it on the Jubilee or Oyster bracelet?

I have the same problem...except I've not actually made the purchase yet. I'm more worried that she'll be angry that I made the purchase without her.

My wears a Movado, a big step up from the Seiko she used to wear 10 years ago. She loves the Mavado and if I surprised her with a Rolex I am sure she would be very happy.

If you wife is going from a Seiko to a Rolex the only complaint I can imagine her having is how much it cost.

Just make sure you know the style watch she likes. Gold, TT, all stainless, ect. My wife would love an all stainless day/date. With a little diamonds would be a slam dunk.

Welcome. My wife would love it, I'm sure, if I purchased her one. Wouldn't think twice in that respect.

Hi Peter, welcome aboard.

The worst that could happen is that your wife won't like the watch and you'll return it. That should leave her with a massive store credit to play with.

Either way, you come out ahead on this one.

Nice Rolex Peter and I am sure your wife will love it.

Al.
The returns policy in some countries is not the same as it is in your neck of the woods mate.
In Australia you could only return it for a credit if it was supplied damaged or if it was not fit for the purpose it was sold for etc.
A return due to a change of mind in Oz would be at the discretion of the AD and not a purchasers right.

Happy Christmas - just one more restless night but I think it will work out.

But just a story from Christmas Past...I did as you did for my wife's 2nd Rolex. (That is, bought it without her along; we had picked out her 1st one together.)

After unwrapping, she looked up saying "I love it". But after a day she opted to go back with me to pick another one that was less costly. So long story short...you get the kudo's one way or the other.

Today being Christmas Day is the day I will know whether I will be in deep shxx or in clover. After lunch, this afternoon to be precise!
I will let you know later how I get on!
Meantime, I wish you all a Very Happy Christmas and many thanks for all your positive posts.
By the way, the watch has the Jubilee bracelet and very nice it is too!
