Lutefisk: whose idea was this stuff?

As a child my parents would take me visit their older relatives and lutefisk was always for dinner. Making me eat it was like a passive aggressive form of child abuse.

I was invited by some friends to a lutefisk dinner at their church and about 2 years ago and I have not regained my sense of smell. Should I sue my friends or the church ?

I watched a show on the discovery channel about strange foods. They showed how lutefisk was made, it was amazing to me that it was not poisonous, never mind tasting horrible as per the host who almost puked on camera. The chef stated it "was an aquired taste".
