laser etched coronet?
Hi all,
I can't see any coronet on the crystal of my 116610ln that I just bought from an AD. Should I be concerned? Or should I not be able to see it without a lot of magnification? Or what is going on here? pic of my watch, taken by AD on my wrist, here: http://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=268321 |

Take an LED flashlight and shine it from 12 to 6 and it should pop right out.

Does anyone have a close-up shot of the coronet on a RSC replacement crystal they can post?
Thanks.

As above, the best way is to shine a light from 12 down to 6.

I spent...serious amounts of time looking. NADA, Zilch, ZERO, squadooooosh. Shined a light from the side, there it was.
Pretty neat how it's done. |

It's there. Shine a light while looking at the watch at an angle.

Please don't try and tell us you didn't look for it the first you became aware it was supposed to be there, regardless of where you bought it.

If you bought it from an AD it will be there regardless of whether you look for it. You already know it is there so no need to question it unless you really want to see it

Turn on your cell phone flash/flashlight place at 12 and you will see the LEC at 6.

That's the money shot. Climb in there through the crown, lay on the dial on your back and shoot upwards.

I can 100% assure you that I would not even strain these old eyes bothering to even look, the only time I have ever seen any LEC is on the various forums in picture form. And God knows why all the fuss is trying to spot the LEC if bought from a reliable source. But today with Rolex watches and todays WIS owners plus todays loupe mania scrutinizing for every tiny detail.I suppose it passes the time if you have not got more important things to do.

My post was not directed at you. 99.% of owners will want to see it, if for nothing else then curiosity. Obviously we have some of the other 1% who would never stoop to something as crass or newbish as looking for it.

Ok, this is my 2nd post with a picture. I just posted recently with a picture but it's not here....oh well I'll try again.
I took this picture with my iPhone in natural sunlight. The best is the led light method. Very cool never the less. It's very reassuring the your watch is real, even when you buy it from an AD. |
