Black Tudor 7965 Oyster-Prince with RED second hand - INFO PLEASE!
Hi
I was just given this black Tudor 7965 Oyster-Prince. I only see pictures of white or silver faced 7965's and I've not found another with a red second hand. The serial number is 43XXXX which from the database indicates a 1964 manufacture date. Wondering if anyone can give me more information on this model? What was the original band? Thank you! |

Hey Harry. Thanks very much for the information! So I'm taking it my super-rare red second hand isn't increasing the value in any way? :)
Any estimate on value on this? No boxes, nor papers... just what you see. |

Red second hands came on Tudor oysters sorry to be digging up a thread. I'm not sure if try did in the 60's but plenty of 50's models had them

Hey. Just got this notification. Since this post this watch has been worn every day. Unfortunately recently it is running fast. Like 20 minutes fast per 24 hours. Going to have to look at proper service. Seems like there is only one authorized repair in Canada. Little worried what the bill will end up being.

You can bring it to other quality watchmakers in your area. Try to find a good reference for someone near you.
No need on official service on that.

Yes, It shouldn't cost you more than $150 + parts to get it serviced from a regular watchmaker.

That red second hand looks very sharp along with the black dial. If you put that watch on a black strap with red stiching, it would look very cool.

Cool. Thanks for the info. I'll look for a repair shop in the Halifax, NS area. Anyone know of a good one?
I'm kinda partial to the red second hand now too. I've got it on the proper metal band... and I think it now looks great. |

Definatly don't change that red second hand. It looks great and adds a bit of sportiness to the watch.
