Rolex Romeo

There was an article in the NY Post today titled "Rolex Romeos". It was about how in the NYC dating scene it is a must for a guy to be sporting a high end watch and Rolex was listed as a poster child but Patek, and others were also identified. A bunch of guys who were interviewed said they would get a much higher percentage of dates if they wore a high end watch. One guy said that without his watch he would not have met his wife. Kind of strange. I think if the only reason a women wanted to date it was due to my watch that would be a big red flag but to each their own....

Couldnt be true. it hasn't worked for me. I have all these high end watches but haven't had a date in over 16 years. I'm fit, dress well, have good manners, am a regular decent bloke with multiple college degrees and not bad looking. Just ask my wife if you don't believe me.

@OP I wouldn't date a person who needs me to wear a Rolex, or drive a benz, etc. Guess I wouldnt have gone far in the NYC dating scene!

in europe a pretty good looking woman in her 30's tried sleeping with me. she said I was dressed nice and liked my jewelry(gold and diamond rings and a gold figaro necklace) didn't take her up on it. but always kick myself for not doing so. would've made the ultimate senior spring break story ever.

LOL, IMO these dudes likely need more than a watch to p/u a date. A female notices my watch and makes a go based on that, I'm outta there...FAST.
