Icon12 Just lost my virginity...

Well, I knew it would happen one day and today I am officially a Panerai owner thanks to a great fellow TRF Member. I had my eye out looking for a 188 for years off and on then unfortunately for my checkbook, saw one for sale here!

Tried to resist...but... pull...to......great!!!

So I pulled the trigger and boom, UPS showed up this morning with a little care package.

I have several 40+mm watches so wasn't worried about getting a 44mm watch and really liked the versatility of the white dial. I'm a sucker for chrono's so it was a perfect first Pam choice.

Really like the brown crock and will have to see what else will look good on it. Maybe something black with white stitching or even a little something fun for the summer like a white strap with black stitch?

Nice fit and finish. All you Pam guys will laugh at me but took me a few minutes to figure out how to change the date. Couldn't find the right pull when opening the crown and thought I got a bum watch. I noticed the circle aperture on the case but thought it was an HRV!

Had to google setting the date to figure it out but now I know...duhh!

Beautiful PAM. Congrats and enjoy. By the way ... one of only a few PAM for which the crown locking mechanism locks in a downward position.

Thanks guys.

Anyone have opinions as to what would be a good next strap? I know Panerai purists are not bracelet fans but I think the older style with the curved links is one of the bes looking bracelets ever. Might have to get one just cuz...

Anyone ever do a black nod white combo? That might look pretty sweet with a white dial.

Hmmm...lots of choices!
