Wow, thanks to all for the overwhelming response. I guess it is pretty clear how the majority feels. I guess my wife knows what she wants and I would be a dumb a** to push the issue. I definatly appreciate all the suggestions, especially the one concerning the investment in high heels.

I think I was swept up in my experience, I had mentioned to my wife that I thought I would like a Rolex someday, and when I actually got mine I was hooked and appreciated it immediately. I figured that a Rolex would have that effect on everyone, I guess not. I really appreciate the suggestion of looking at it from her point of view, how would I feel if she had a passion for modern art and just started buying me paintings just because she loved them and figured anyone with a brain would feel the same way.

Again, thank you to all, especially the Psych professionals, and the women. Merry Christmas.

Nobody "needs" anything but air and water and nourishment. But that is a nice ladies watch. I bought one for a lady once, and she loved it. It is a stunner so get it for her. It won't advance her career, but as an intrinsically good purchase, it is that...And she will love it. It is just a watch. But it is a beauty.
