Best Rolex Regardless of Price

I am looking to purchase my first rolex and I was wondering what the best Rolex is regardless of the sticker price. I am most interested in what is inside the watch, the quality of the movement, reliability, durability, and something that will last for a long time. Thank you.

The best Rolex is the one you like the most, all the men line up except the chronographs are all based on one movement the cal 3135 with or without added complications. And with just a little care and regular routine service all will last a life time and beyond. The sports S.steel models hold there prices a little better that say the Airking DJ range, but all Rolex watches hold there prices well compared to many other high end brands.

The best Rolex is the one you like and can afford. At the same time, there is nothing wrong with having that grail you can dream about.

Very sound advice.

My 3 choices are narrowed down to these:

Exp II 16570 (white dial)
GMT Master II 16710 (coke or pepsi)
Sub LV 16610

The most "complete" watch for me is this one, at a sensible £11.5k MRSP back in 2007 ... and I had a really hefty discount.

The TT version is ok too.

Regardless of price, I think I'd want either a WG Blue Sub or Platinum Pres. Probably the WG Sub... it's tough to beat IMO

It depends on what you are looking for. Every Rolex is "best" to someone.

Really tough to pick one....but I will go with the white gold Sub. I think the sub is the classic Rolex, and the white gold with blue dial and bezel is truly an understated classic.

Best is the most 'sought after' Rolex. If you call 10 ADs, 5 won't even have it. That is 116520, SS Daytona.

Totally subjective. I'm surprised not to hear more 216570 as tough and reliable. Relly!? The sub and GMT are awesome too! I should have stayed out of here! Now I want that damn 116710!!!

Thanks a lot, Mike! Now I'm going to stroll into the AD for a 216570 and come out with a 116710 instead!

not biased because I love the GMT Master above all Rolex watches but I think its the best bang for the buck. Especially its newest iteration being the ceramic one. Glad to see most people here agree

The Best Rolex is not the most popular model or the most expensive model or the flashiest model or the ones that have the most upgrades...as others have said, it's the one you like best, the one that best suits your personality. They're all durable. I've had many sport or dress Rolexes. My best is the Explorer.
