Michael, you have a child there. That's more money, and a better investment, than ANY car!

Sunrise over an empty beach with the smell of seabreeze on the wind. A cold mountain night under the milky way. A cup of coffee by a nice fire. A sunset flight in an old DC-3 with the wind screaming through open doors....and so many many more. All shared with family, close friends, old loves, old dogs, cats or anyone that brings strong feelings and good stories.
I've yet to own any material possession that produces the sense of well-being that I get from moments like that. That is for me, undeniably, the finest things of life. |

Nice photos DS/B.
Have two Sebenzas myself. 2003 and 2005 Wood inlays customs. One with Desert Iron Wood and one with California Burl. Been looking at getting a plain one, but with partially serrated blade. And also getting a engraved small sebenza. Also have couple of CR fixed bladed knives a Jereboam, one of the orginals made in South Africa back in the early 1980s, when Chris still lived there. And also have one of hie Rhino Skinners. He also just came out with a Special 1st Special Forces Group edition Pacific fixed blade. Need to hurry up and get one of the originals with the SF logo on it, only offered to former members of 1st SFG. Chris Reeve has a good offer in place as well. Get a photo of yourself with one of his knives and the head of Osama Bin Laden, and he will give his company to you!!!! (believe it or not he was serious!) |

I agree with the posters about what are "finer things" in life. A fine watch, pen, and cigar are definitely on the list...but I also can't help but think about the "Finer Things Club" in this last week's episode of "The Office" ("Branch Wars" episode).

Used to shoot with a 501 CM, but decided to stay with 35 format, after digital photography's remarkable invasion of traditional photography. I firmly believe, a Leica has its own mystique similar to Rolex's and Benz's. All the best! |

Yes, also a fine Mountblanc pen is one of those things I always have on me.
3 things I always keep with me: Mountblack pen, custom pocket knife, and a nice mechanical watch. |

I echo the Aston Martin (DB6). But how about a very fine, very rare, very old, very smooth, very expensive single malt? (Not both at the same time)!
