Charlie Wilson's War

I'll follow JJ's lead and recommend a movie. I saw Charlie Wilson's War on Wednesday and really loved it. I haven't enjoyed being in the theater that much in a long time. There is a lot of interesting history about the Soviet/Afghan war but the dialogue is hilarious. Tom Hanks is great as always. Phillip Seymor Hoffman is fantastic as usual. Anyone else seen the movie? I'm currently reading the book also. Charlie Wilson is quite an interesting character (in real life also).

Tom Hanks is the best actor in Hollywood, IMHO. I'm trying to get my wife to go with me to see it.

Thanks Michael. Looking forward to that one.

Thanks for posting this, Michael. My husband and I have been thinking of seeing the movie, but I hate to waster valuable "babysitter time" on something that's not a safe bet.

Thanks for the update, Michael. I'll be sure to see it when it's released in Auckland.

How can any movie go wrong with Tom Hanks in it?

Yep, I saw No Country for Old Men the other day. Very good acting all the way around. Tommy Lee Jones is always great. Josh Brolin does not get the credit he deserves.

Great movie. I watched a 2 hour documentary on Charlie Wilson on the history channel, I think it was, really helped understanding everything.

My wife & I really enjoyed "Charlie Wilson's War"

Poignant film with hilarity throughout. Mike Nichols has made so many excellent films, IMO. I echo your recommendation.

For another very good one with Philip Seymour Hoffman, try "The Savages". It's still out in some theaters, and it's outstanding.

I saw it yesterday. It was intelligent and very funny. And, for as good as Tom Hanks was, I think Philip Seymour Hoffman pretty much stole the show.
