16613 Submariner Bracelet Help
First post here although I've been trollin' for months. Just bought my first Rolex, TT Blue Sub. I removed all of the removable links since I have a small wrist (6.5) and like to wear my pieces tight but the Sub still doesn't fit properly; top heavy on the 12:00 side not laying flat on the wrist as I'd prefer. I've researched removing the Divers Extension here but cannot find any useful threads re: the Sub, just mostly the DSSD. My questions are:
Can I remove the divers extension and replace it with one of my removed links or do I have to modify the bracelet by adding a link from a different model, etc? Will removing the divers extension even alleviate my issue? Does anyone have any other advice? Looking forward to feedback and happy to finally be here! |

Take it to an AD and have them size it properly so the clasp is centered on your wrist. They might have to remove a permanent link. I have to do the same thing with my new sub because the clasp doesn't center with one link removed.

I'm thinking you might need a permanent link removed as well. If so take it to an AD or a watchmaker you trust.

As mentioned, removing a permanent link from the 6 oclock side is the time-honored way for dealing with a small wrist.. It was so common that Rolex now makes all the new bracelets so they have one more removable link on each side than in the past..

I often wondered why my 114270 was missing a permanent link. The guy who had it before me did have very small wrists. Mystery solved haha.

Try just to reverse the bracelet: 6 at 12 and vice versa: mine (16610LV with a half link) works with that.
If not, you will have to take off a permanent link.

Have you made the clasp as small as possible?
There are little adjustments on them you can use a tooth pick to move the pins

Thanking everyone for the extremely valuable insight. It appears I will have to remove a permanent link which is fine with me. I currently have the clasp on the smallest setting.
wagstar - not sure what type of clasp it is, factory with the 16613 from 1999... I can check the # when I get home if the clasp makes a difference, I'm happy to do so. |

DONT remove a permanent link. It will destroy the value.
Try reversing the band 180 degrees. This is the best solution to the problem without destroying an otherwise perfect band. OR, sell the band online and buy a different band from another manufacturer at a fraction of the price and pocket the difference. Rolex bands are hard to find and are never cheap when they come up on the auction sites. BUT, its your watch. So do as you please. |
