Yachtmaster ss vs daytona ss

I just flipped my sd and going to meet up a local dealer to check out some Daytonas should I sell off my yachts and purchase the daytona .
Torn between these two watches

Can anyone help me pros and cons

I have owned subs and yachtmasters but never a daytona

Anything to look out for not a daytona specialist over here

Well I just use the watches to tell mostly time or look at my phone bad habit I guess already own am16613 and 16610lv both with dates and the yachtmaster feels like I have three subs with dates just different colors or dials

Look out for Daytona's that are needing a service. Not the cheapest overhaul in the line-up.

If you can get the newer "fat hands" version then reading time at night is easier. Something newer than the F serial numbers. Although some later F7xxxxx cases had fat hands. See borrowed pic for comparo.

pros and cons really depends on what YOU want.

Daytona is a chronograph, has polished center links, no date function, wears a little dressier than the other sports models, also wears a little smaller IMO. The SS Daytona is hugely sought after and is still one of the most difficult models to get your hands on. Because of this, they retain their value extremely well.

For my first and only Rolex (so far), I was choosing between a SS Daytona and the Plat/SS Yacht-Master and ended up choosing the Yacht-Master. When I tried them both on in person, the decision was easy for me.

Daytona for me! The YM is fantastic, but in the end the Daytona to me is the most desirable watch.

You sold your SD?....but why!

Very little difference with the Daytona (4130 movement) except for the clasp which was changed, I believe, with the late M serials (I think?).

I sold my black faced Daytona. It is a great watch. But I missed having a date and with the new blue faced 116622, it was an easy decision.

I own both but wear my Daytona more....just love the way it fits on my wrist. But be warned.....if you are used to wearing Subs, the Daytona will feel smaller and lighter on your wrist....it does take a little to get used to it but it's a great watch.

Thanks for the replies and yes swissaholics I'm kinda use to wearing subs but I know what you mean. I feels a tad smaller but I felt like I had three subs 16610lv and 16613 plus the yachtmaster . I really loved the yachty but some thing inside felt blah something about the platinum looking dial was a little boring IMHO and I felt that to have the a yachtmaster ss i would try a Daytona never had one before . At the end of the day these watches can be sold and found again when i go to the dealers they slso have yachtmaster ss snd daytonas So nothing is permanent

I prefer the Daytona, the Yachtmaster is a platinum Sub, at least to me.

I will flip the Y for the D in a heartbeat. Both comfortable and gorgeous but the D is unlike any other.

Depends how old you are. If you are
under 30 get a Daytona
under 40 get a Daytona
Under 50 get a Daytona
Equal or over 50 YM

Blame Bond and too many Subs and YM T_T you see it soo much that you start hating it. It's like cheese cake have too much and you can't have it any more :( I miss cheese cake when it tasted good T_t

+ if you need date look at your smartphone.

Smartphone is something nerds use to call there lift (mom.)

Since you already have two Submariners choose the Daytona for something different and unique.
