Vintage Crown Guards Sub vs GMT
Hi All,
As I hunt for a matte 5513, i am looking at ALOT of watches. A primary criteria for me are fat squared off crown guards. Many 1675s I see have fat, squared and not overly polished crown guards Many/most 5513s I see have thinner, more polished crown guards I find this odd. Perhaps subs were generally used harder over their life and polished more often vs. GMTs seeing lighter duty and fewer polishes? Is this just me - or do you notice the same??? Thanks Russ |

Subs have different crown guards than GMT's, whereas GMT's have usually thinner cases.

It's definitely wider and squarer on the GMT 1675 as compared to the 5513/5513 subs. Here're mine:
