I appreciate brutal honesty so thank you, and thank you for following my other threads. I've tried them all on but I'm torn-my final three models all have somethin that appeals to me and somthing that detracts. And it is a large amount of money to spend and later regret. But I agree I need to try them on again and see which on I'm dreaming of. Thanks for your post!

I love my blue TT! But......I do find that I wear my black subC more usually working, meeting clients, ect. I also find that I wear my TT when on holiday or going out rather than a day to day watch. One reasons is that I like to keep it in pristine condition andits more fun. However, one of the reasons I purchased the TT Blue C, was that for a decade I wore a TT blue Serti. I did basically everything with that watch and ending up selling for a short fling with the AP brand. Finally back to Rolex for several years, was excited when the new c subs came out. Bottom line....love the blue!

Let me ask you to do something for me: I want you to imagine yourself wearing your favorite TT Sub while wearing these clothes:

1. Dark suit/light suit suitable for a attending a wedding.
2. Suit and tie suitable for office attire.
3. Sport coat and nice slacks.
4. Jeans and casual shirt.
5. Jeans and T-shirt.
6. Shorts/swimsuit.

Would your TT go with all those outfits? My guess is not as well as a Stainless Submariner would go with them. I've gone through a few Rolex's in my day and had TT's SS's and Yellow gold Rolexes. The only two I have now are a solid yellow gold Yachtmaster and stainless steel Sea Dweller. IMO, a SS Rolex goes with almost everything and every occassion while TT and Solid Gold, not so much.

Excellent exercise Sarah, and point taken. Similar to what others have said, buy what you like and wear it what you want. It's hard to imagine a watch being right for every occasion.

Wear my TT Sub everyday.... uniform, suit & tie, jeans & tee.... Goes great with all.

I will second Karis' posts. This is a great place to use as sounding board, but try them each, multiple trips if you must. One will speak to you more than the others.

The Sub's about as big as I want to go...well, possibly the DJII. I'm going to take the advice of trying them all on and if one doesn't scream "buy me" then I'm going to sleep on it and see which one I dream of, or keep trying them on. It was easier when I only had the money to buy the best available pre-owned. Now I have the money to buy any model I want and it's a little intimidating.

The TT Blue Sub works well dressy/cassual... but really only with brown attire. The Gold and Blue compliment brown shoes/belts, blue shirts, kackies, tans, etc

For anything w/ Black shoes/belts, greys, etc... the TT Blue doesn't antually work as well (hence why I bought a black sub). A black formal suit w/ a TT Blue face actually stands out poorly (in a bad way). If you had a TT Black face, then you could pull it off w/ gold cufflinks, gold belt buckle, etc along w/ the black belt/shoes.

My 2 cents... but knowing how to acceessorize your watch w/ your wardrobe is important (others will likely not agree), but its in the details that truly makes you stand out.

And no, I am not gay (not that there's anything wrong with that)... straight as they come... just have a strong attention to style and detail.

One solution is if the person wears a nice blue tie (and/or [any shade] blue dress shirt) with the black formal suit?

BigDoug, instead of thinking whether you can match the watch with certain outfits, I would first throw all those thoughts aside and just first look at the watch and see if you like the watch itself.

If you always wanted a Sub-C and a TT watch, then put both blue and black dials next to each and find out which one calls to you the most. Don't ponder how one would look with this and with that. You are impressing yourself and not others. Some people will like your fashion sense, others may not. Go with your "instincts," it never fails and you won't get buyers remorse.

I used to own a 116613LB and would wear it 3 out of 4 days of my work week. The 116613LB is such a stunner that it used to command people's attention everyday, and get comments every other. Complements are great (especially if you're a bachelor and they're coming from someone you find attractive), but sometimes the amount of attention someone pays to your wrist can be unsettling.

Basically, I would recommend to buy but also keep a few stainless steel models in your weekly rotation.

And that is what I'm looking for, a Rolex that commands attention. Call me shallow. I don't know if a DJ does that.

As someone that has the GMT-TT, a SS Daytona and Blue TT Sub.....which I purchased last, since I was thinking along the same lines as you. I can confidently say that you can either dress it up or down and it looks good for everyday wear. It does get a bit of attention - but hey, why not? if I dont want anyone to see it, just roll your sleeves down.

Plus, the blue and gold combo. EPIC.

I appreciate the feedback. Having the same concerns as I do and your experience telling me they were unfounded in comforting. And I know...the blue and gold combo is amazing, one ofthe reasons I want this watch.
