Selling my watch

So I posted my other watch on fleabay because it don't wear it since I wear the GMT-IIc on a daily 24/7 basis now. I put a buy it now price and low and behold a buyer from Indonesia appears to want to purchase my watch for the buy it now price and has absolutely no feedback what so ever. How do I make sure that I don't get scammed out of my watch. Should I just ignore the inquiry all together? I have heard of crazy scam methods, even going as far as the seller recieving a wire transfer from the buyer, then 1 month later getting a message that the wired funds were from a hijacked stolen back account.

What method of payment are you accepting? Either PayPal or some other form of "money up front" is in order. You might look at a money order, if you want the cash in your hands with no hassle.

200 feedback here. Only use paypal. Money orders and bank checks can be faked. Do not send until the $ shows up in your PP account. If they pay PP with a check or money order you need to wait until it clears through paypal, but PP will tell you that.

Good Luck!

You can accept a bank transfer or cheque provided that you release the watch once your bank has confirmed in writing that the funds have irrevocably cleared.

If the buyer is prepared to wait the weeks or months that it will take then fine.

Otherwise, forget them.

There's the key.

Tread lightly with this one.

i have 300+ selling feedback... and deal with international buyers all the time.....

with someone with 0 and from indo.. they tend to have a high rate of scam..... i would only accept WIRE TRANSFER which must clear before anything is sent, paypal would be out the question.. not as much selller protection from paypal when sending to 0 feed/international buyers... i would also consider/accept money order which also i would wait for it to clear...

if you take wire transfer make sure they take into account any fees associated.. so that you arnt shorted
