Something different for those who remember the 70s

Found these neat sterling attachments. I'm thinking of sending them to Atilla Aszodi for a custom strap. I first wanted to see if I liked them well enough to go to the trouble. I tried to fillet the ends of this inexpensive strap, thread half through after trimming half off (split thickness) and cinched it together with some thread. I can also send this to Attila to help with sizing the custom strap. I don't think it looks half bad on my snowflake. We'll see, just having fun. It appeals to my artsy side.

What happened to the original twist-o-flex part? Never mind, don't really want to know. Those are easy to source, however. I wore my Air-King on one of these for years. Made the hard-core guys literally throw up. With the twist-o-flex, it's easy on and off, and expands as your flesh swells if you are pub-crawling.

Back in 1972 when I was in the Army, I remember seeing those bands. Some of the guys were having their unit crest or emblems placed on the bands. I never had one made for my automatic Seiko DX - which I still have to this day.

Yep - i used to see them made in Olongapo, PI when I was in the Navy. i had a belt buckle made there that I still have that reads "Backstabron 145", instead of "Atkron 145" (attack squadron).
