Don't worry mate , totally chilled ... It makes me laugh more than anything ...

I just love the human nature in it ... The rational that whatever point of entry /purchasibg the hobby an individual takes is perfectly rational but the people up the ladder are nuts ... To be fair the the $100k guys think the $250k Patek guys are nuts but people can always persuade themselves that wherever they draw that line in the sand is perfectly normal and rational ... The one same person in the asylum ..

I've said it before and ill say it again ... The minute you spend more than $10 on a watch logic leaves the building

The Casio collectors think the seiko collectors are overpaying mugs

The Seiko collectors think the longines guys are mental ..

The longines guys thing omega buyers must be made of money

Omega buyers think Rolex buyers are saps ..

Rolex guys think Patek guys are soft in the head .....

Once you realise we are ALL in the asylum together it all makes a lot more sense :-)

Hell, if I'm buying a $100,000 watch it ain't getting shipped anywhere. I'm going to wherever they are and it's leaving their premises on my wrist.

Absolutely mate - I agree! Very well put - it is indeed all relative. And we're all in it together and as nutty as thimble collectors (well, maybe not quite that bad...) my friend, K.

@Confused

I was considering buying a Panerai but now I don't know where I fit in?

Do you recon I could 'fit in' between 'Nuts' and 'Absolutely Barking'?

most of all ...

don't forget that a Comex it's not just a damned watch but ( sometimes ) also a relevant piece of the free world history :

but please " forgive not " ...

the CNEXO company (IFREMER from 1984 ) ... that did a lot of operations with COMEX and got from Rolex an extremely small number of delivered watches ( probably only 15 ) :
