Diver or 15400 Black Dial
Hey guys,
Trying to decide which one will be my first AP. Love them both but I can only get one. I can't make a choice so I am looking for enabling Thanks!

Well certainly different in many ways--both great ways to step into the AP world.
Diver is a great sports watch and very comfortable. Keep in mind it has a rubber strap, so not a dressy. It was my first AP and a great watch for almost any occasion. Is this going to be a daily? 15400 is a versatile watch that can be dressed up or down. The black dial will tend to make it a little dressier, than say the silver dial. Another great watch for everyday, but try it on, as some complain that it doesn't fit right on their wrist. For me it's ideal. Either way--you have made a great choice to get an AP. You'll love them. Not black, but straight out of the box when I bought it. Gives you good sizing perspective: |

Only have a pic of the 15400 and it does fit great.
I should add that this would leave me with a PAM 233 as my other watch so the diver might cover a similar space (though my plan would be to get the bracelet later on). It's a tough one ... I am leaning towards the one I am thinking about at any given moment. :)

Yep if you have a PAM, then go for the 15400. You can always sell the PAM and get a Diver later--once you've been sucked into the AP world of no return

IMO, they are both must-have APs so right choice is to buy both! But if "force" to choose, then I will recommend the Diver.
I mean, seriously, can you say no to this? That being said, however. If you already have a sporty ROO and you are looking at more of a sporty dress watch. Then the 15400 might fit the bill better. And I recommend the white dial. So actually, can't go wrong both ways. Good luck with your choice! |

Start with the Diver Serg. However, I'd sell some other stuff and get both.

You guys are killing me! I am trying to convince myself that the 15400 is the sensible choice for a mature gent such as myself ...

I definitely find that I miss the bracelet of the 15400 when I'm wearing the diver but hey, I might just save up to get the ROO bracelet!
My choice: |

^^^ Do you miss the sapphire back? That really gives me pause!
My evil plan (if I go for the Diver) is to add the bracelet later on.

Can't go wrong with the Diver, but there is no bad choice whichever you choose, good luck with your decision.

I think that, in line with the comments of one good buddy (you know who you are) the best choice is 15400 + 233. Then, if I love the brand ... inevitable as it sounds, the 233 could be traded for the Diver making it one on a strap and one on a bracelet.
And I get to peep at that amazing 3120 every now and then!

Again, am with Mike on this one. Sell the other stuff and get both.
AP's are amazing little machines. My 2 cents. |

Best for black is the mega tappiserie of the Diver, and white/silver is best for the RO, so get both of course.

I would say, start with the 15400 and, if the desire continues, get the Diver. However, even with a Diver and 15400, I could not see moving the 233.

Very interesting opinions everybody.
To Neil (AK797), in fact I so much prefer the black tapisserie to the mega tapisserie ... the way it catches the light. Cru, I am right there with you! All roads point to the 15400 :)

Do you need David's contact info or do you have him on speed dial?

I saw the Diver in the AP boutique and was absolutely floored by the dial.
A few days later I spotted a gent with a 15400 on his wrist while reading a magazine next to me, the bracelet was incredible and the dial reflected and danced with light in beautiful ways. Have you had a chance to actually try on a Diver, I'd say definitely give it a shot. Very hard choice, having the Pam on leather and a Diver on Rubber....... I say get the 15400. Later, move the Pam and welcome the Diver. |

The diver is one of my favourite watches .... And exceptionally comfortable. Love the 15400 also. But diver nips it

It will be a difficult decision to make, however I prefer the 15400 slightly, I can always buy the leather conversion from AP bands... which I really like.
And I'm sticking with my 15300 btw, I don't like the size and bezel/dial ratio on the new 15400.. I don't know why.
