A little strange...
I have now had my Polar Explorer II (216570) for almost a year. In all this time it has never kept really exceptional time (sometimes gaining up to 15 seconds a day). The problem went so far as to prompt me to send it to RSC to be regulated.
Consistently the watch is between 5 to 8 seconds fast per day. Over the last 2 or three days I haven't been wearing it and when I checked it this morning on time.gov it was not just within standard, it was absolutely dead on in accuracy! In three days it did not gain or lose a single second when not on the wrist, but when wearing it, it gains time. Has this occurred to anyone else? And is there a reason for it? |

The amount of activity when worn will affect it.

It's telling you that once you put in on you should be very, very still....
Not quite sure what to make of that. Are you still under warranty? I would say that +5 to +8 is just out of COSC standards.

A worn watch will almost always run faster than one on a winder.. Your movements keep the balance from making a complete oscillation, effectively shortening it's swing/timing and making the watch tick faster..

Mine runs about -3/day when on the winder but dead on when I'm wearing it.

How did you chart your watch's variance?
I set my watch to usno time periodically. However, I haven't the patience to obsess about variances. As long as I am close to the minute...I'm good. |
