Deal or No Deal?

Used Rolex made 2001, good case condition, box and papers, decent price, "trusted seller" BUT no service history...
Deal or no deal?

BTW:
How important is that service history? How important is box and papers if I find the same model and year without box and papers but with recent service history? Thanks

Price wise, service is important, box is nice but it's not worth 1K and a service on a 12 year old watch is probably 700-1K depending on what's needed. Factor that into the price!

Service history is nice to have but not usual not to have for a used watch. Trust seller = good!

If you find one with a recent service history and is the same condition as the one your are looking at then go for that one. The box and papers do not matter that much in that case.

Depends on the trusted seller.

I'd value a watch with a proper and documented recent service higher than a watch with a box and expired warranty paper and no service. I also wouldn't hesitate to buy a watch in nice condition from a trusted source, recently serviced or otherwise, if the deal was reasonable.

An unknown service history calls for one of two things -
Either a pre-buy movement inspection...or
A 7-day return for refund if more than $xxx overhaul cost estimate...(mutually agreed $xxx)
