Afraid the political correct and health and safety bodies especially now in the UK are sometimes bordering on the ridicules but glad it went ahead keep tradition alive.

Did I hear right, the Ministry of Health decreed a plastic cheese wheel was used for sanitary reasons?

Random thoughts:

Nice to see that people seeking a good time prevailed.

In future years I imagine it will be televised with a disclaimer on the bottom of the screen stating that it's being performed by professional stunt people on a closed course. Do not attempt.

No wheels of cheese were hurt in the making of this story.

Apparently the 86 year old woman who has supplied the cheeses for the past few years was warned by police she could be liable if any injuries occurred!!!!

That's too bad.....why is it that many people today when they get injured go to court and sue others...especially at an event like this with a long history of fun and games.....

It's a shame.....

Take it easy.....Leo

This is getting ridiculous, just because she made the cheese, she could be liable for someone elses accident. It may be worse than in the US.
