Can Some of You Help?

Can you folks look at my post below called - Tudor Submariner Model 7928. I am in a position where I am being asked to pay for a watch and don't know weather to do it. It does not have the original movement in it. Should be 17 jewles, not 25 so the movement is newer. My question is is it worth $1,600 or should I renig on the deal. Face and movement seem to be in great shape.

if it doesn't have the correct movement you should not purchase this watch (as a collector) -- it will not have a re-sale/flip value

kratzz,

You've posted this in so many places it's hard to keep up..

You stated that you might go by the NYC Rolex Service Center with it...Did you...?

If you asked the BH RSC for a service estimate and inside condition, they would be able to tell you if they would even touch it..

Also, the picture does not show the movement....That Tudor rotor weight could have been added to any kind of movement..

Here is kind of the bottom line..

If the watch is supposed to have a 17 jewel movement, but it is 25 (whose 25 ?), and further has a 30 jewel marked part....it does not have the original movement, or it's parts....that is most of the watch.. With that much wrong, it is likely the case is also not original.

It's a Frankenwatch at best....a complete counterfiet at worst.. If you think it is worth the money...buy it....But I doubt that anybody could advise you to do that with a clear conscience.. unless they have absolute confidence in it's value.. I don't

Your right. This has been a dam nightmare. At least its not paid for yet. I may get a unpaid strike on my ebay account but at this point who cares.

If you return the product...because it is not as advertised, or a counterfiet product, I would think you have plenty of ammunition to argue a non-payment strike on e-bay.....

If you can get your money back I would do it quick. It might as well have a quartz movement, it's total rubbish like that. The back cover looks like a ring in too, hard to tell from that one photo, infact the whole watch could be a totally made up job, there are some very convincing copies out there now, and some you would never pick from a photo alone!

The movement should look like the one below

A very good lesson. I guess there was a reason this seller dropped this off at an Ebay store. I just wish it was authentic as I would have had a great watch for years to come.

Sure I can go buy one, a Rolex, and will do it but there is something cool about these old Tudors.

I want to thank all of you for your replies as you saved me a huge amount of frustration as well as dollars. You are really nice to help a new person out and take the time to do this. You will all be rewarded as I beleive in karma. Best regards....Mark (BTW how do you add those cool graphics next to your name?)

Sorry about the late PM, but as you can see I will second the other opinions. Good call you did not pay for the Tudor!

Mark,

Go here for a wealth of information..

The first set of FAQ's have that very same question..

http://www.rolexforums.com/faq.php?f..._user_maintain

Of course, it doesn't really answer the question..

So go to the User CP at the top blue band and find the heading "Edit Avatar". If you follow the directions, you can easily upload your favorite picture.
